Dear Parent/s -- On Friday, December 13th, K-4th grades went to a program, provided by the police department, that dealt with “Stranger Safety.” The officer stressed some very important things that you should do with your child to keep him/her safe and I wanted to share it with you. He told the kids that you should have a “secret” password that only your child, you and people who aren’t strangers know. In that way if a stranger should approach, your child can ask for the password and know whether or not he/she needs to “yell and tell.” He also stressed the importance of your child knowing your address, your first and last names and your phone number. So, please practice this together. Also review what your child should do in the case of an emergency and how to make a 911 phone call. Hope this can be of any help to you. |
