Entrance Requirements

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

  1. All general admissions policies as included here and found in the current handbooks on the web site will be followed.
  2. All documents for admissions must be in place before consideration is given to an applicant.
  3. New students will be required to take entrance tests appropriate to their grade and age for proper class placement.
  4. Specific criteria for admissions will be the following:
    1. Kindergarten students must meet current age level of development in areas of language, auditory and visual skills as determined by the screening instrument.
    2. Grades 1-3 must score in the 60% or 6th Stanine as a minimum on the designated standardized Reading assessments
    3. Grades 4-8 must score in the 60% or 6th Stanine as a minimum on the designated standardized Reading and Math assessments
    4. A student may be excused from the standardized assessments if they have results from current testing.
  5. All teacher recommendations, previous grades and testing will be considered when making acceptance and/or placement decisions.
  6. Students with learning needs or differences beyond the ability of this facility to provide will not be accepted.
  7. Some students may be accepted on a conditional basis if the admissions committee feels that the student has potential to be successful following certain guidelines.
